Is Your Emotional Fuel Healing or Harming You?

Let’s get straight into this conversation, starting with some context.

Do all petrochemical fuels, derived from oil, burn the same? Do they all burn as cleanly as each other? Do some burn faster or slower? Do some produce more heat than others? Do some fuels leave a cloud of black (polluting) smoke in their wake?

Let’s acknowledge that not all fuels burn the same, even if they derive from the same source.

So today, we are going to talk about the FUEL of our emotions.

And this is inspired by a good mate of mine who I have known for decades, and has had recent heart surgery.

He has always been great in the fitness and nutrition department, but as I highlight in the subtitle of The Guidebook to Optimum Health, exercise and nutrition alone are not enough for optimum health.

It is Time for Some Relationship Tips

I suspect you are unlikely to guess what my #1 Relationship Tip is.

A bit of back ground first, so we have some ‘context’.

(Side Tip: The context – also known as the bigger picture – is so important when it comes to communication, and even making high quality decisions. Getting clear of the context first, is a great habit to have)

So…

I was hanging out with a colleague the other day, who is high-vibe, and also a fan of Dr Joe Dispenza’s work (which helps be a high-vibe person), and they mentioned something about me and the books I have written (5 and counting). They also mentioned it would be great if I created a program on how to write and publish a book – so keep an eye out for that, as I LOVE to teach what I have learned along the way.

Now a bit over 10 years ago I set one of those big hairy audacious goals. I committed to writing 5 books in 10 years.

And ticked it off in 2020.

I had also decided to write The Guidebook Series, with a book on each of the following subjects: happiness, health, success, relationships and spirituality.

I actually wrote the first 3 books and then took a detour when I got to a ‘guidebook’ on how to create amazing relationships.

Do you want to know WHY … and what it confirmed for me?

How to Improve Your Manifesting Powers

Would you like to be better at manifesting what you ACTUALLY want?

If so, then read on.

Have you ever heard the theory of how many thoughts we have, each day? Since it is not easy to count thoughts, the number ranges from about 6,000 to 60,000. Regardless of the exact number of zero’s it is still A LOT.

In addition to this, researchers suggest most of our thoughts are recurring, and the vast majority of them are NEGATIVE. Eeeeeek!!

This is the foundation for the manifesting strategy I want to share.

Because…

If you are sending out, or percolating, or reacting to, 6,000-60,000 thoughts a day, many of which are not in your best interests (negative); do you want this to be your principle communication source to the Universe?

How does the Universe, or even the people around you, know what you REALLY want, if you have so many thoughts firing off in multiple different directions, like a firecracker?

This is why we need a better strategy.

Are You Using The ‘Right’ Metrics to Measure SUCCESS

We have already started with a good quality question.

Just the way I like it.

This topic has come up for me with a number of my coaching clients, in the past, and even more of late.

Because, here is the thing.

I can use a unit of measure that tells me I am successful (or not), but if that unit my measure is crap, then the feedback I am getting is not really that useful.

So…what unit of measure are you using, to determine if you are doing well or not in this game of life?

Now, let’s go deeper.

What are you Resisting?

You might know by now, that I love to ask questions. So…

What in your life, right now, are you resisting?

(Whether that is a little or a lot)

It really is a great question to start the illumination and growth process. Sort of like the sun shining on a seed in order to help it grow. You are the seed and the illumination in this case is the gaze of your CURIOUS and consciously aware mind.

In fact, to get the most out of this growth experience, you will also be adding another ‘superfood’ ingredient to the mix…COURAGE.

This article is inspired by a colleague of mine – Leah – a fellow explorer of life and its meaning (and also the author of a very cool book called Drawn Together: Uplifting Comics on the Curious Journey Through Life and Love).

Leah told me that my article on creating our ideal lifestyle was a total trigger for her. She experienced a whole bunch of RESISTANCE to the activity where you evaluate what your ideal lifestyle might look like. Therefore with Leah’s permission, and my own curiosity, let’s see what we can learn from her experience.

2 Common Mistakes when Manifesting Desires

2 mistakes people make when manifesting

In a recent Life Masterclass podcast, I had a conversation with a coaching colleague of mine – Sharon Cavanaugh – about meditation and different modalities we have found to be most effective for ourselves and out clients. Do check it out.

We both agree one of our favourite meditators and educators is author and neuroscientist Dr Joe Dispenza, and recently Sharon and a mutual friend had the opportunity to attend an advanced retreat in Denver with Dr Joe. By the way if you ever get a chance to attend one of his events I HIGHLY recommend it. Life changing!!

After the event our mutual friend told me that I would love an insight and distinction Dr Joe shared.

He was talking about finding the balance between ‘intent’ and ‘surrender’. He suggested:

“Over-intent becomes trying (which is a form of separation) and over-surrender becomes giving up”.

3 Simple Choices that Changed My Life

Becoming a butterfly

When I am hosting workshops or seminars, I like to share parts of my origin story, for the groups benefit. I also like to think of myself as a ‘crash test dummy’.

I try things out on myself first (like a 5-day water-only fast) and then share with someone like you, what the outcomes were – good, bad and otherwise.

Starting during Easter 1999, I decided to undertake a 30-day challenge, which came in the form of a number CD’s and was presented by Tony Robbins. As a result of that activity, I decided to make (an action) three significant life choices, which steered my life in a (completely) different direction.

This is what I learned back then, coupled with insights from the last couple of decades.

Beliefs, Flexibility and Increasing Happiness

Level up happiness

You may or may not know that working with beliefs is one of my favourite subjects. One of my books called – The Successful Mind – is all about our beliefs, our thinking, our ‘thoughting’ and how they influence not only our emotional state, but what results we ultimately get in life.

(If you want to listen to a free version of that audiobook, check out the Life Masterclass Podcast channel)

The hypothesis I want to put forward today is that your flexibility when it comes to your beliefs, has a significant impact on how gracefully and easefully you navigate your way through life.

Hands up if – as a small person – you believed in Santa Clause?

Do you still believe in Santa Clause?

I am guess that if you did and you are over the age of 20 (and not living with mum and dad) you might be pretty disappointed when you Xmas tree is still bereft of presents on the 26th of December.

Charles Darwin, Evolution and 747’s

Charles Darwin and Evolution

This conversation is inspired after reading Gregg Braden’s called ‘The Science of Self-Empowerment’, and also reflecting on my trying to labour through Charles Darwin’s book called ‘The Origin of species’. I never really got into it, or fully bought into the completeness of a statement about evolution being a result of ‘survival of the fittest.’

Actually Darwin originally called it ‘survival of the strongest’.

The idea of promoting competition as being the most important things when it comes to evolution does not resonate with what I have learned over the last couple of decades when studying yoga or Eastern philosophies, and looking into the ‘raising of consciousness’ or the journey towards self-actualization.

In very simple terms competition is more likely to elevate and increase the ego, as opposed to reducing the ego and lifting consciousness and self-awareness and having loving kindness come to the fore.

Before I dive into a little expose in relation to competition and cooperation (and which creates a more harmonious world experience), I want to share with you a few things that Braden raised in his book. Which might also blow your mind.
